2.4 Chrome Extension Data Collection
When you use the MidJAu Chrome Extension to connect Discord channels to MidJAu platform, we collect only the minimal data necessary to establish the connection between your Discord account and MidJAu:
- Discord Connection Information: Connection data from the Discord page you're viewing, including server and channel identifiers extracted from the current Discord page URL, and authentication information required to connect your Discord account to MidJAu. This data is collected only when you explicitly click "Connect" and grant the required permissions.
- Discord Storage Data: Limited access to specific data stored in Discord's browser storage (localStorage) that is necessary for establishing the connection. We only access the specific storage keys needed for connection setup, not your entire localStorage or sessionStorage.
- What We Don't Collect: We do NOT access your Discord messages, chat history, or any other Discord content beyond what's needed for the connection. We do NOT collect your entire localStorage, sessionStorage, iframe data, or page content. We only access specific data necessary for the Discord-MidJAu integration to function.
- Purpose: This minimal data is necessary for the integration to function and is used solely to establish and maintain the connection between your Discord channel and MidJAu platform for automation purposes.
- Data Transmission: Collected Discord connection data is transmitted securely over HTTPS to your MidJAu account using your MidJAu authentication token. All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption.
- Permission Requirements: The extension requests access to Discord and MidJAu websites only when you initiate a connection by clicking "Connect". All permissions are optional and requested at runtime with clear user consent. Permissions are not requested during installation.
- Cookie Access: The extension reads your MidJAu authentication cookie (only if you are already logged into the MidJAu web app) to verify your identity. We do not access or store Discord authentication cookies or credentials.
- No Persistent Storage: Discord connection data is not stored locally by the extension. Connection data is processed server-side and used solely to establish and maintain the Discord-MidJAu integration.
- No Remote Configuration: All extension functionality is hardcoded. The extension does not download or execute remote code or configuration from external servers.
- Data Deletion: As a user, you have the option to delete your data at any time by clicking the Disconnect button on the settings page. Doing so will permanently remove all Discord connection data, and MidJAu will no longer be connected to your Discord account.
